Internship II

Hello to all my excited Internship II classmates!  We are so close to reaching our goals.  I have never developed an advocacy plan before so it will be yet another new experience for me.  Best of luck to everyone as we reach out to others and grow in our professional careers.

  2. I had thought advocacy was something I hadn't done much of until I thought about all of the issues that I deal with every day in my profession. My internship site is an elementary school because there are no facilities that work with infants and toddlers who meet the criteria. I find it challenging to work with elementary issues seeing my focus is birth through five years old. My host teacher is very supportive and is a strong advocate for early childhood issues so I am confident she will be able to guide me.

  3. The reading in chapter two gave some food for thought on advocating as well. I think we all advocate in some way. Some do it big and widely noticable and some do it where only a few can see. I think I tend to take the latter role. We will see how developoing an advocacy plan goes. I trust that the course requirements will walk us through the process like the first internship did through the paper. Best wishes, Diane

  4. Wendy:
I just read this message from your blog. It did not show up on mine. Possibly because you posted it under a response I had posted on your page. How are you doing with your advocacy plan? I flopped on the first assignment but rebounded on the second. The process has definately been different than Internship I. I am taking TEAching Math at the same time. Is this your final class? I have two more after this quarter, Teaching Science and Teaching Social Studies. Email me on Kendall Email if you want to chat. Best to you. I understand the concern about switcing computers. My old computer is acting up but I did not want to switch mid-quarter. I am saving everything I do on a flash drive and hoping I get through the quarter without computer problems.

    1. Hi Diane,
Thank you for the encouragement. I am glad you are on track and feeling confident about the class. This is my last semester and I am taking three classes. I enjoyed the Teaching Math course. Thank you for taking the time to blog to me. Now I know switching computers might not be the nightmare I thought. Best of luck to you.
      Wendy
