Blog 5 -
This is a bitter sweet thank you to all my classmates at Kendall College.  For me, this has been a three year journey.  Many things have changed since I first set my goal to earn my BA in ECE.  Discussions were a big insight in every class as we shared how we do things differently.  I enjoyed your ideas and suggestions and took many to heart.  This class has been very challenging for me and many of you offered help above and beyond what the assignment required.  Thank you and God bless all of you as you complete this journey.  Be proud of your accomplishments.  Wendy

  1. Module 5 blog post/response, a note of thanks and support

    Wendy,

Thank you for all of your positive support and encouragement. I specifically appreciate your support for the idea of a PowerPoint presentation as this turned out to be the best option for my presentation due to the simplicity of putting it together. I will look into a career as a motivational speaker. On a more serious note, though, thank you so much for your wonderful support. It was so helpful in my times of desperation. Good luck in all of your future advocacy endeavors. I hope that you can continue to positively advocate for and inspire the children that you work with. Good luck!

  2. Hi Summer,
I think after this experience I will leave the advocacy to others! Seriously, I have never been made to feel so incompetent as I have in this class. If it wasn't for the support of my classmates, I may have thrown in the towel and forced myself to return at another time for another try. Every time I thought I was going to give up, someone motivate me to keep trying. Thank you for all those times that it was you. Best of luck Summer! Your fellow struggling advocate, Wendy

  3. Wendy,

You may not realize it but you were such a big help the first Internship course for me- gave me lots of support and feedback on discussions and blogs. This quarter I have trying to follow what everyone was accomplishing but with my own feeling of "drowning" I hate that I was not as supportive to you. I hope that in the future we can keep in touch; you and I seem to think and feel along the same lines! I will not be checking out my school email much after I get that degree in the mail but you can always reach me on facebook or through my personal email - jujubee6674@yahoo.com. I wish you nothing but the best in the future!

    1. Hi Julie,
I think we should keep in touch. I am not even sure I am done with Kendall at this point. I truly am not sure if I will pass Internship II. Hopefully, fate will play a role and I will be able to wrap this up before my husband goes in for spinal surgery toward the end of the month. I don't have a facebook account because I haven't had time for one. Maybe now I will have more time. In the meantime, you can keep in touch with me through my personal mail at wmercy@comcast.net. I hope you are doing well and have more confidence than I do about how or when this class will end.

  4. Wendy:
I apologize I somehow had an incorrect blog linked to my own blog page. I actually posted to the incorrect blog. I was very concerned with how you were doing since I was monitoring the wrong blog and it was too quiet.

Congratulations on being so near completion on your degree. Sad to say I have yet two more classes before I am finished. I opted to take the internships with only one additional course each time. I am very glad I did. Internship I was alright. I could have taken the third course with it but no way would I have been able to do that with this Internship II. It has been very stressful.

I understand your feelings of your statement about leaving advocacy to others but I know you really do not mean that. You do what you do because you care about others, children in particular. I know you will continue the "fight" for them.

It was hard in this process to seperate an advocacy plan from course assignments. Getting excited about a plan was often thwarted with trying to figure out expectations without much interaction. Be reminded that as educators we work for the success of all our students. I know you will continue.
    Blessings!

    1. Hi Diane,
I don't really know how I am doing to tell you the truth. The only assignment I have left is my reflection. I won't know until all the grades are in. How about you? How are you doing? What are your last two classes? I am excite for you. You have worked very hard and it is almost here for you! Let's keep in touch.

  5. Wendy, A note of thanks and support to you! Thanks for your support of my Parent Fact sheet by asking to see it when finished. That will be over the summer, so have added your comcast e-mail to my address book.
I also offer my continuing support - your post sounds a little melancholy. I am a good listener, if there is anything I can do. My e-mail is GAL1638@AOL.com

  6. Hi Gerry,
I probably won't be checking my Kendall email if I graduate. Hopefully, I pass this course and can shake off the experience. It was sad for me to be so frustrated throughout this course when I had a 4.0 and one semester left. I would never have guessed that it could have been such a struggle. I really hope I pass it. My personal email is wmercy@comcast.net. I wish you the best of luck and hope we stay in touch. Wendy
